Phone-as-sentry motion alarm

Your phone stands guard.

Point it at a doorway, a hallway, or your gear and tap Arm. Vigil sounds a loud alarm the moment a person or a moving car comes close — no cameras to install, all on your device.

Ten seconds to a working alarm

No wiring, no mounting, no account. It's the phone already in your pocket.

STEP 1

Point

Prop your phone facing the door, hallway, or whatever you need watched.

STEP 2

Arm

Tap Arm. A short countdown lets you step out of frame before the watch begins.

STEP 3

Rest easy

The instant a person or moving car appears, Vigil blares a loud alarm — even on silent.

Built to catch what matters

A real alarm that acts now — not a quiet recording you review later.

No hardware

No cameras to buy or mount. Vigil runs on the phone you already carry.

10-second setup

Point, arm, done. No account, no pairing, no configuration screens.

Loud alarm

The siren overrides the silent switch to wake you and warn an intruder off.

Smart detection

Spots people and moving cars and ignores parked cars and background motion — far fewer false alarms.

Hears the approach

Optional Sound detection catches footsteps or a car pulling up even off-camera — and ignores everyday noise like birds.

Private alert mode

Pop in an earbud and the alarm plays only in your ear — a silent, discreet alert nobody else hears. Or leave it loud to scare them off.

Adjustable sensitivity

Tune from Low to Extreme — and set people and cars independently — for close-up or distant coverage.

Private by design

Nothing is recorded, nothing is uploaded. Every frame is analyzed on-device and discarded.

Smart motion, not dumb motion

Old motion apps trip on every shadow, gust, and passing cloud. Vigil looks for what actually matters — a person, or a car that's moving toward you — and, with Sound on, listens for footsteps while tuning out birds. The rest, it lets go.

Nothing recorded. Nothing uploaded. Ever.

All detection runs on your device. The camera feed is analyzed live and thrown away frame by frame — there are no servers, no accounts, and no tracking. Your watch stays yours.

Questions, answered

Why not just buy a real security camera?
No install, no hardware, and far cheaper than camera subscriptions — and Vigil is an alarm that acts the moment someone comes close, not just footage you review later. It's the phone already in your pocket.
Won't it false-alarm on everything?
Vigil specifically detects people and moving cars. Parked cars and background motion like trees and shadows are filtered out, and sensitivity is adjustable from Low to Extreme so you can match your scene.
Does it record or spy on me?
No. Nothing is saved or uploaded. All detection runs on your device — each camera frame, and any audio when Sound is on, is analyzed live and discarded right away.
Can it listen for sounds, too?
Yes — turn on Sound detection and Vigil listens through the microphone for sudden noise above the room's normal level, like footsteps or a car pulling up, even out of frame. It tunes out steady background noise and high-pitched sounds like bird chirps. It's optional, off by default, and audio is analyzed on your device and never recorded.
Can the alarm be silent — just for me?
Yes. Pop in a Bluetooth earbud (like AirPods) and the alarm plays only in your ear — a discreet alert nobody around you hears, so you know someone's approaching without tipping them off. Take the earbud out and it's a loud siren again to scare them off.
Can I leave the screen off or put the app in the background?
Not yet — iOS pauses the camera in the background, so Vigil needs to stay open with the screen on while it's armed.
Will it notify my watch or another phone?
Not today — right now Vigil is a loud on-device alarm. Remote alerts are on the roadmap.
What devices does it work on?
Vigil runs on iPhone. It uses your phone's own camera to watch the scene live — no extra hardware to buy or install.
